Delhi is about to get a brand-new addition to its leisure and adventure scene—hot air balloon rides that let you float gently above the city and soak in its sights from a completely new perspective. This marks the first time such an experience will be available within Delhi city limits, promising to combine scenic views, urban adventure, and family-friendly fun in one unique package.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced plans to introduce tethered hot air balloon rides at four picturesque locations:
1. Yamuna Sports Complex – Surrounded by sprawling sports grounds and urban greenery.
2. Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex – Offering views over the Akshardham Temple and Yamuna riverbanks.
3. Asita Park – A peaceful green escape right along the river.
4. Baansera Park – Delhi’s first bamboo-themed park on the Yamuna floodplains.
Unlike long-distance balloon flights, these will be tethered rides—the balloon stays anchored to the ground with ropes, allowing it to rise to a safe height while staying in place.
Officials hope the project will combine fun with understanding about river conservation and urban environment. The hot air balloon trips are a first for Delhi.
