Delhi is all set to offer its residents a breathtaking new weekend experience — hot air balloon rides at two Yamuna floodplain parks developed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). Starting this Saturday, visitors can float above the serene greens of the floodplains and enjoy a refreshing, panoramic view of the capital like never before.
The initiative took a major step forward when the first-ever tethered hot air balloon trial run was successfully conducted at Baansera Park. The event was attended by Lieutenant Governor V. K. Saxena, who lauded the effort to bring a unique recreational attraction to the city.
According to officials, each ride will last around 10 minutes, offering a gentle ascent to about 100–150 feet above ground. For safety compliance and operational clearance, the operator has secured permission from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to take the balloons up to 200 feet.
A ride is priced at ₹3,000 per person, excluding taxes. While it’s a premium experience, it promises an unforgettable aerial view of the Yamuna’s rejuvenated green stretch.
This new venture marks a fresh push toward enhancing eco-tourism and leisure spaces in the capital — turning the Yamuna floodplains into not just a natural retreat, but also a hub for unique recreational activities.
Delhiites, get ready to rise above the rush and enjoy the city from a whole new angle!
