It is a good news for all Noida residents as an IndiGo test flight from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport successfully landed at Jewar International Airport, Noida for technical assessment before commercial flight operations begin in April next year.
On Monday, all security related trials at Jewar Airport in Noida were completed post which the IndiGo flight made its victorious landing between 1:00 .m. – 2:00 p.m. The aircraft remained airborne for 1.5 – 2 hours before finally landing at the Noida airport runway which is approximately 3.9 kilometers long.
Upon arrival, the IndiGo flight was given a water salute. The achievement highlights the airport’s readiness to commence commercial flight operations which are likely to happen in 2025.
As per officials, the Jewar Airport has been specially designed with the collaboration of Zurich Airport Authority of Switzerland.
This successful landing has demonstrated the progress of Jewar Airport in Noida which is all set to transform air travel connectivity for Noida and NCR region. Once operational, the airport is expected to reduce travel time to international destination and relieving Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport of congestion.
