The India Habitat Centre’s Theatre Festival (IHC Theatre Festival 2025) is back, transforming the capital into a hub of dramatic brilliance. Over ten days, theatre lovers can immerse themselves in powerful performances that traverse languages, cultures, and genres — from daring new writing to bold reinterpretations of timeless classics.
This year’s festival promises not just entertainment, but a mirror to society — where themes of identity, memory, love, satire, and social realities come alive on stage.
Highlights to Look Forward To:
- Mehroon: Opening the festival with a Hindustani-language play that blends history, emotion, and memory. Directed by Amitesh Grover, written by Sarah Mariam.
- Kadambari: A bilingual Hindi-Bangla piece exploring cultural identity, written and directed by Meghna Roy Choudhury.
- Khichik: Written by Shiv Subrahmanyam and directed by Divya Jagdale, this Hindi play journeys through decades of shifting relationships, careers, and personal choices. Produced by Kumud Mishra.
- Mezok: A multilingual performance (English, Hindi, Ladakhi, Garhwali, Sirmouri, Kannada), directed by Jyoti Dogra, showcasing India’s linguistic richness.
- Dagad Ani Mati – A Marathi play (with English subtitles) directed by Sachin Shinde, rooted in rural narratives and struggles.
Beyond these, audiences will encounter satirical works, musical theatre, physical performances, and devised experimental pieces.
