Organized by Dastkar – A Society for Crafts and Craftspeople, the Monsoon Mela is part of the Nature Bazaar series—seasonal craft fairs hosted at Kisan Haat, Andheria Modh. It brings together traditional artisans from across India, offering handcrafted textiles, décor, jewelry, pottery, and more. Dastkar, founded in 1981 by Laila Tyabji and colleagues, supports over 100,000 craftspeople across India.
Around 100 craft groups showcasing handloom, block printing, mirror-work, jewelry, wooden décor, pottery, upcycled items, and eco-friendly crafts. Seasonal "monsoon-themed" items such as pastel soaps, floral jewelry, organic snacks (like khakhra and ragi chips), and herbal fragrances.
Expect storytelling, folk music/dance, and hands-on skill sessions (e.g., block printing, embroidery, papier-mâché). Artisan interaction sessions will provide insights into traditional techniques and craftspeople's narratives at the event.
The Dastkar Monsoon Mela invites you to dive into the monsoon spirit—through exquisite traditional crafts, immersive workshops, seasonal flavors, and lively performances—all while supporting Indian artisans and sustainable creativity.
When: 7th - 18th August.
Where: Nature Bazaar (Kisan Haat), Anuvrat Marg, Andheria Modh, Mehrauli, New Delhi 110074.
