Lodhi Art District in New Delhi, India’s first open-air public art district is turning 10 years old in 2026, marking a decade since its first mural transformed the streets of Lodhi Colony into a vibrant, walkable street art destination. To celebrate this milestone, the St+Art India Foundation is organising a month-long Lodhi Art Festival offering fresh murals, workshops, performances, and community events across this iconic urban art space.
A Decade of Public Art: The Story of Lodhi Art District
Located between Khanna Market and Meherchand Market in Lodhi Colony, the Lodhi Art District was conceptualised and brought to life in 2015–16 by the St+Art India Foundation, in partnership with Asian Paints and civic bodies, to make street art accessible to all. What started with just a handful of murals has now grown into a living open-air gallery with more than 60 large-scale artworks by Indian and international street artists adorned across the neighbourhood’s walls.
