India’s rich and diverse handloom heritage will once again take the spotlight as the country prepares to celebrate the 11th National Handloom Day on 7th August 2025. The grand celebrations will be held at the iconic Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, bringing together artisans, policymakers, and craft enthusiasts from across the nation in honour of one of India’s most treasured legacies.
The event will be graced by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, as the Chief Guest. Joining her will be Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs & Textiles Shri Pabitra Margherita, Smt. Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary (Textiles), and Dr. M. Beena, Development Commissioner (Handlooms), along with senior officials, industry leaders, and representatives from the weaving community.
The event will be attended by about 650 weavers from all over the nation. In addition to them, the event will be attended by exporters, senior government officials, overseas purchasers, and notable individuals.
In addition to honouring the skill and craftsmanship of our weavers, the celebration seeks to highlight the diversity, tenacity, and significance of India's handloom tradition.
By supporting handlooms, every individual becomes part of a larger story — one that celebrates heritage, empowers artisans, and contributes to a sustainable future.
As the 11th National Handloom Day unfolds at Bharat Mandapam, it will not only honour the craftsmanship of India’s weavers but also inspire the next generation to keep the looms spinning and the traditions alive.
