Delhi’s winter season is incomplete without the aroma of sizzling kebabs, steaming momos, and tangy chaats wafting through the air at the National Street Food Festival, one of India’s biggest celebrations of local flavours and culinary diversity.

Organised annually by the National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI), the festival transforms Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium into a food lover’s paradise. For three delicious days, vendors from every corner of India and even some from neighbouring countries gather to showcase their regional specialities, stories, and culinary pride.

From the smoky seekh kebabs of Lucknow and the spicy vada pavs of Mumbai to the sweet, melt-in-your-mouth rosogollas of Kolkata and the comforting idlis of Tamil Nadu, every stall tells a story. It’s not just a food event, it’s a sensory tour of India’s street culture.

There is something for everyone here, including a flea market for shoppers, live cultural events, a Studio Kitchen where chefs and sellers tell their tales, and more than 120 food stalls.

Recent editions have even introduced international street favourites like Turkish lahmacun and Nepali sel roti, adding a global touch to the festival’s menu.

The heart of this festival lies in its purpose, celebrating and empowering India’s street food vendors. NASVI uses the platform to promote food safety, hygiene training, and entrepreneurship, giving small vendors national visibility and recognition.

Whether you’re a die-hard foodie, a cultural explorer, or someone just looking for a fun day out in Delhi’s winter sun, this festival promises memories you won’t forget.

When: 12th - 14th December.
