Delhi is all set to get its first Waste to Art Park in Astha Kunj, South Delhi. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will develop its first waste to art theme park which will have replicas of ancient Indian structures made of waste materials. The theme of the park will be ‘Walk Through The Ruins.’

Although the exact location of the park hasn’t been decided yet, the proposal states, "The Walk Through the Ruins Park will use waste material from the debris to design the walls and even the benches. It is proposed to showcase the heritage of the ruins using a unique technique where people will be able to walk through them and see the beauty of historical ruins from across India."

A DDA official said, "This will be DDA's first waste-to-art theme park and we plan to appoint a consultant to provide assistance in conceptualizing, developing, constructing and operating the park that will showcase the heritage of historical structures through the ruins."

The 200 acre Astha Kunj Park is spread between Lotus Temple and Nehru Place. This is not the first time the MCD has built themed parks in Delhi. The first such park was opened in 2019 by the then South MCD at Sarai Kale Khan. After its success, three more parks were opened namely, Bharat Darshan Park in Punjabi Bagh, Shahidi Park in ITO and Heritage Park in Karol Bagh.
