The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to bring the capital city its first‑ever international‑standard ice skating rink at Dwarka Sector 23 Sports Complex — a project that promises to change the recreational and sporting landscape of the city.

Slated for completion by October 2025, the facility will cater to both leisure seekers and professional athletes, offering Delhiites a unique opportunity to experience ice sports right in the heart of the city.

In six months, the 4,200-square-meter facility with a 60x30-meter rink will be finished. It is designed to support niche ice sports such as ice skating, ice hockey, figure skating, and curling, with provisions for both recreational users and athletes.

The operator will manage the rink over a 15‑year license model, in collaboration with international partners via a JV or SPV. The design stipulates full compliance with international safety and operational standards—including seating, locker rooms, digital systems, and climate‑controlled ice maintenance.

The ice skating rink will also function as a climate-controlled indoor leisure space for both locals and tourists, which is especially useful given Delhi's long and hot summers.

Delhi’s first-of-its-kind rink marks a bold step towards diversifying the city’s recreational and sporting landscape. Once operational, it promises to be both a cool escape during hot Delhi days and a nurturing ground for ice-sport enthusiasts.
