Delhi will see a "visible transformation" starting on May 2nd, according to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who announced the start of a rigorous 20-day citywide cleanliness campaign. Officers will be held personally responsible for cleaning every street, park, walkway, and public area.

Officers from several civic and administrative bodies, including district magistrates, deputy commissioners, and police officials, have been given specific zones, according to the CM, who unveiled the campaign. Daily on-site inspections will fall under their authority, and any violations of safety, cleanliness, or encroachment will result in immediate accountability.

With a strong emphasis on cleanliness, greenery, and public participation, market places and known trash hotspots will be carefully addressed and plantings will be used to green dust-prone regions. Regular waste collection will take place, and garbage trucks will operate on predetermined routes and under cover. In addition, public restrooms, sewers, and drains have been given priority for sanitation.

Additionally, Gupta said that each deputy commissioner will choose a single community to serve as a "model area" to demonstrate the best possible municipal maintenance, vegetation, and cleanliness.

According to Gupta, the BJP's "triple-engine" government would bring about swift transformation and end years of stagnation. "We will make Delhi a clean, green, and beautiful city in order to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Swachh Bharat."
