Delhi To Conduct Free Laser Shows On These 10 Venues This Diwali!
To encourage an eco-friendly and cracker-free Diwali, the Delhi government will host laser shows at ten venues throughout the city. These events, scheduled for the evening of Diwali, are intended to encourage people to celebrate the festival without using firecrackers, which add to air pollution during the winter months.
The laser shows will begin at 6 p.m. and last nearly four hours, featuring modern laser technology, music, and visual effects. According to an official, the performances will be a thrilling alternative to conventional firecrackers, providing a cleaner and safer way to enjoy the event.
Here is the list -
1. Connaught Place's Central Park
2. Delhi Haat At INA
3. India Gate
4. Bharat Vandana Park in Dwarka
5. Garden of Five Senses in Mehrauli
6. Nehru Park in Chanakyapuri
7. District centres at Karkardooma
8. Janakpuri
9. Laxmi Nagar
10. Netaji Subhash Place
Such efforts were first launched by the Delhi government in 2019, when they hosted a four-day laser spectacle at Connaught Place. Authorities also banned the sale, storage, and use of firecrackers in the city until January 1, 2025, this year. The city's declining winter air quality, which is made worse by Diwali firecracker use, is the reason for the decision.
