Durga Puja isn’t just a festival — it’s a feeling of joy, artistry, devotion, and community. While Kolkata may be the soul of the celebration, Delhi has built its own unique identity around Puja, thanks to its large Bengali diaspora and the city’s multicultural embrace.
In 2025, Durga Puja will be celebrated from September 28 to October 2, and Delhi’s neighborhoods are gearing up with larger-than-life idols, dazzling themed pandals, bhog feasts, and cultural nights. For five days, the capital will glow with lights, chants of “Jai Maa Durga”, and a spirit of togetherness.
1. CR Park – The Heart of Delhi’s Durga Puja
Often called “mini Kolkata,” CR Park is where you’ll find Delhi’s grandest celebrations. You will witness bustling food stalls, music shows, massive crowds, and electric energy till late night.
2. Matri Mandir, Safdarjung Enclave
A beloved community puja with a homely, devotional aura. This is perfect for those who prefer smaller crowds and deeper cultural immersion.
3. Minto Road Puja
This puja is not just about devotion but also about accessibility, grandeur, and nostalgia. For decades, it has been one of the most prominent pandals where Delhiites — Bengali or not — gather to celebrate Maa Durga with fervor.
4. GK-2 Durgotsav
Known for its balance of devotion, cultural richness, and community warmth, this puja offers a perfect blend of traditional Bengali rituals and modern artistry.
5. Kashmiri Gate Kalibari
With more than 115 years of legacy, this puja is steeped in tradition and continues rituals the way they were performed in Bengal over a century ago. The Kalibari temple itself is a landmark, adding a serene, temple-like charm to the festivities.
6. Arambagh Durga Puja Samity
Famous for its theme-based pandals, often replicating temples or monuments with breathtaking scale. Every year, the committee creates extravagant sets — from temple replicas to heritage monuments — with intricate craftsmanship.
