It is a good news for all devotees traveling from Gurugram to religious places like Salasar and Khatu Shyam as they could soon avail a helicopter taxi to these locations instead of traveling for over 10 hours.

Recently, Haryana’s Civil Aviation Minister, Vipul Goel held meetings with Rajasthan’s Civil Aviation Minister, Gautam Kumar to make travel to these pilgrimage sites more convenient. Both states have agreed mutually to start a helicopter taxi service and operations will commence soon. This move is expected to boost regional tourism even further.

Salasar and Khatu Shyam are important sites of pilgrimage for Hindus and every day, thousands of devotes throng to these locations from Gurugram. Currently, travel time between these destinations is easily 10-12 hours, sometimes over 15 hours due to traffic. The state government is positive that with the launch of helicopter taxi, there will be added convenience for travelers and hence, increase in tourism.

To ensure timely launch of this service, a meeting was held this Monday between Haryana’s Civil Aviation Minister, Vipul Goel and Rajasthan’s Civil Aviation Minister, Gautam Kumar. Pointers like need for infrastructure like helipads, waiting areas for passengers and safety standards were discussed. In the meeting, Vipul Goel also stated that the aim of government with the helicopter taxi service is to made travel comfortable and convenient.

Not only will this initiative contribute to the local economy of Khatu Shyam and Salasar but also promote religious tourism. The formal inauguration of this service is likely to begin soon.
