In a move that could redefine tourism and urban development in North India, the Haryana government has announced plans to build a Disneyland-style theme park in Manesar, near Gurugram. The project is envisioned as a large-scale entertainment hub and a cultural landmark, comparable to international attractions like Disneyland Paris or Tokyo Disney Resort.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced ongoing discussions with The Walt Disney Company to build India’s first Disneyland-style theme park on a spacious 500-acre site near Pachgaon Chowk, Manesar—the Gurugram district. Strategically adjacent to the Kundli–Manesar–Palwal Expressway and the future Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, the site promises easy access from Delhi NCR. Plus, it’s right next to Haryana’s upcoming Global City and future metro and rail links.

The park is also projected to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs across hospitality, retail, construction, and transportation sectors. Positioned as a game‑changer, the project aims to reduce outbound tourism by offering a world‑class alternative in India and attract global tourists. Surrounding regions—Manesar, Bhiwadi, Rewari—are seeing a spike in property demand. The park could act as a catalyst for infrastructure development.

There’s no official timeline yet. We’re still in the “talks in progress” stage with Disney. But fingers crossed, by the time your toddler is ready for school—or you’re ready for a nostalgic escape—the park could be up and running.

The proposed Disneyland-style theme park near Gurugram could be India’s most iconic entertainment destination, bringing global tourism, jobs, and economic transformation. However, the path to realization is long and demands both vision and accountability.
