If you’ve ever battled Delhi-NCR’s infamous traffic to catch a flight at IGI Airport, you know the stress of factoring in 90 minutes (or more) for a journey that should feel much shorter. But that’s about to change dramatically.

Starting August 16, 2025, two major road infrastructure projects—UER-2 (Urban Extension Road-2) and the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway—are set to slash the drive from Noida to IGI Airport to just 20 minutes.

UER-2 (Urban Extension Road-2):

- Stretch: From Alipur in North Delhi to Mahipalpur near IGI.

- Passes through: Mundka, Bakkarwala, Najafgarh, and Dwarka.

- Purpose: Acts as a semi-ring road to divert traffic away from congested central routes.

Dwarka Expressway (Delhi Section)

- Connects Kherki Daula Toll Plaza in Gurugram to Shiv Murti in Mahipalpur.

- Completes a high-speed, signal-free corridor linking Gurugram, Dwarka, and IGI Airport.

Together, these roads will provide a seamless, high-speed drive from eastern NCR cities like Noida and Ghaziabad directly to the airport without the current bottlenecks of Ring Road or NH-48.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate UER-2 and the Delhi stretch of the Dwarka Expressway on August 16, 2025. The announcement is already generating buzz among NCR commuters and airlines, who expect smoother flight connections and more predictable travel times.
