In order to prevent liquor stores from operating on major religious holidays, such as Ram Navami and Good Friday, the Delhi government has announced five dry days during the first quarter of the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

Liquor shops in Delhi NCR will be shut on the following dates according to a recent order issued by the city government's excise department:

- Ram Navami (April 6)

- Mahavir Jayanti (April 10)

- Good Friday (April 18)

- Buddha Purnima (May 12)

- Eid-ul-Zuha (June 6)

According to the directive issued by Excise Commissioner Sunny Singh, the dry days for liquor licensees have been announced in compliance with the terms of Rule 52 of the Delhi Excise Rules, 2010. Additionally, it stated that the licensees must display the order in a prominent location on their licensed property.

Dry days are designated times when licensed establishments are not permitted to sell alcohol. These days typically fall on election days, religious festivals, and national holidays. Although alcohol sales are prohibited, private use is typically permitted.
