‘Environment is no one’s property to destroy and everyone’s responsibility to protect.’

Delhi Greens is a non-profit organization set up in 2007 with the goal of protecting the environment, increasing environmental awareness and promoting sustainability. Over the years, the NGO has done commendable work in encouraging and empowering the masses, especially the youth to take green action and tread on the path of sustainability.

The core members of the NGO include Govind Singh, Konsam Nirmala Devi, Ravinder Bawa, Madhavi Jain, Geetanjali Sageena, Rishabh Parmar and A.P. Jayanthi.

Delhi Greens functions through various projects and activities of its own. To generate environmental awareness, the NGO has a flagship Delhi Greens Blog Project. The members as well as volunteers work consistently to protect river Yamuna. It has also been operating as the guardian of trees, parks, green covers and the Delhi Ridge forest ever since its inception. Not just this, The NGO has also been working towards the inclusion of Environmental Education in schools and colleges throughout the country.

The key initiatives of Delhi Greens include:

·       Delhi Greens Blog: This is Delhi’s first ever environmental blog that captures Indian and global environmental movement.

·       DYSoC: Delhi Youth Summit on Climate Change inspires the youth to take action on climate leadership.

·       UERA Lab: The Urban Ecology Research and Action (UERA) Lab, which is headed by Dr. Govind Singh addresses the challenges of urban sustainability.

·       Publishing House: The Unific Publishing House (UPH) publish all updates regarding environment and sustainability.

·       Ecotourism: This motive of this initiative is to pioneer and apply the concept of urban ecotourism in order to generate mass environmental awareness.
