Drones will soon deliver packages to residents of the national capital region (Delhi-NCR). This year, Skye Air, a drone delivery company for e-commerce and quick-commerce items, intends to extend its operations to Delhi-NCR. Currently, the company uses drones to deliver packages in Bengaluru.
"The immediate focus lies in taking our operations multi-city," stated Skye Air CEO Ankit Kumar. They will probably consider visiting Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and a few other places next year.
According to Kumar, the company intends to target high-density areas in Delhi-NCR, ideally 8–9 pin codes. "We don't intend to grow beyond Delhi's western and southern regions. He went on to say that the company serves 70 societies in 28 pin codes in Gurugram.
Blue Dart, Shiprocket, DTDC, and Ecom Express are among the 12 logistics partners the Gurugram-based company has on boarded since its founding in 2020, and it intends to onboard more this calendar year (CY).
This year, Skye Air wants to use drones to deliver 5 million packages. In CY24, the company sent 1.2 million parcels, and in CY25, it delivered an average of 150,000 packages monthly. The average weight of the drones used by Skye Air is about 4 kg, and they can carry up to 10 kg.
