According to Union Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Noida International Airport, sometimes called Jewar Airport, is expected to open for business on April 17, 2025, with over 30 flights planned for both domestic and international destinations. Jewar Airport is anticipated to grow into the largest airport in Asia and the fourth largest in the world, greatly expanding air travel options in India's National Capital Region (NCR).
The first international flights from Noida airport are reportedly scheduled to go to Singapore, Dubai, and Zurich, with Zurich being significant because it is home to the concessionaire's headquarters. Major domestic cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Dehradun, and Hubli will be connected to the airport.
The airport is being built in four stages. The first stage focuses on building a 3.9-kilometer runway, a passenger terminal complex that is 101,590 square meters in size, and the support facilities that are required.
A crucial phase in the airport licensing procedure, the validation flight, was finished by Noida Airport on December 9. The launch carrier, IndiGo, undertook the flight to validate the airport's approach protocols and the operation of its air traffic control and navigational aids.
Jewar Airport is evidence of India's dedication to updating infrastructure and satisfying the needs of a quickly expanding aviation industry as the nation moves forward with its plans for aviation expansion. As a significant first for India, Noida International Airport is built to have net-zero emissions, demonstrating its dedication to sustainable development. This program is in line with worldwide movements for ecologically conscious airport operations.
