The "WhatsApp Bharat Yatra," a first-of-its-kind nationwide initiative, was launched by WhatsApp with the goal of educating small businesses on how to use the platform to grow and interact with their customer base.
In order to offer individualized, on-the-ground training sessions, a mobile bus will start a tour of Delhi-NCR, stopping at bustling marketplaces including Laxmi Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Nehru Place, and others.
Important business centers in Haryana's Gurugram and Uttar Pradesh's Noida will be visited by the mobile bus tour. Later stops will include Agra, Lucknow, Madhya Pradesh's Indore, and Gujarat's Ahmedabad. The trip will stop at Sapphire Mall and Atta Market, two important centers in Gurugram and Noida.
Through interactive demonstrations, businesses will learn how to generate catalogs, create a WhatsApp Business Profile, and design engaging ads to boost sales and customer engagement.
The Bharat Yatra campaign also aims to educate small companies on WhatsApp's latest advancements. Recent additions include Meta Verified, a tool to increase company reputation, and possibilities for custom messages for birthday wishes, appointment reminders, and sale updates. WhatsApp is also looking into integrating Meta AI, which will assist companies in managing customer interaction more effectively.
The Bharat Yatra initiative builds on WhatsApp's previous initiatives to assist India's small business community, such as WhatsApp Se Vyapaar, which was launched in partnership with CAIT to upskill 10 million traders, and Digishaastra, a digital literacy program managed by the India SME Forum.
