This is for you if you've ever been trapped in traffic for a very long time while attempting to travel to Gurgaon. Finally, there is truly light at the end of the tunnel! Trial runs of the eagerly awaited Dwarka Motorway tunnels have begun by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and we can already feel the wind of smoother travels to come.
The 29-kilometer Dwarka Expressway, which includes these recently constructed tunnels, is intended to greatly reduce the chaos of the Delhi-Gurgaon commute. The twin tunnels are the first 8 lane, fully integrated urban motorway tunnels in India, and they span roughly 3.6 kilometres. Once fully operational, this expressway will offer a high-speed alternative to the ever-congested NH-48, bringing much-needed relief to thousands of commuters.
They're India’s first 8-lane, urban road tunnels—built with cutting-edge technology to ensure safe, fast, and efficient travel. With features like smart lighting, automated ventilation, and emergency response systems, this isn’t just a commute upgrade—it’s a leap into the future of Indian infrastructure.
There is a genuine sense of enthusiasm as the work is almost finished and trial runs are underway. Everyday commuters are eagerly anticipating a more laid-back and predictable commute, particularly office workers and regular travellers.
So Gurgaon-goers, fasten your seatbelt. Our pleas have been heard by the expressway gods, and the tunnels are nearly prepared to save our daily routines. Here we are, Gurgaon—on schedule, and perhaps even grinning.
